Vudu said that it "experienced double-digit growth in new accounts in 2020" and the VOD (video-on-demand) streaming service it now rolling on TVs, streaming boxes, and sticks powered by Amazon's FireTV platform. - "We want Vudu fans to be able to watch movies and TV shows on all of their favorite devices, and Fire TV has been one of our customers’ most-requested devices for streaming content," said Kevin Shepela, EVP, CCO at Fandango. "With Vudu’s vast library of premium content from new release event movies to favorite films and TV shows, we are excited to deliver to Fire TV users so many new viewing options to watch in their living rooms, many in breathtaking 4K." The app supports 4K HDR, the company said. Compatible devices are Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, and 'Fire TV Edition' 4K TVs. The Vudu app was already available for Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, select Smart TVs, Chromecast, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and other platforms. Vudu is competing with VOD streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV (iTunes) and Google Play Movies. These services let you rent or purchase movies individually. The company said that the app is rolling out now.
